Danger of mud sinking in delays the planned opening of the bathing bay at Lake Aa
Opening of the bathing bay is expected to be postponed by 14 days // Aasee triathlon will take place as usual
The planned opening of the Aasee bathing bay next weekend has to be postponed. There is a risk of the bathing area sinking in due to heavy silting. The cause is thought to be related to the desilting work being carried out on the inlet to Bocholter Aasee. The desilting work has already been commissioned and the opening of the bathing bay is expected to be delayed by 14 days.
There is only a risk of sinking in one section of the bathing bay, which will remain closed until safe bathing is restored. The Aasee Triathlon taking place on 15 June 2025 will be held in a part of the Aasee that is not affected by the siltation. The event will therefore take place as planned.
