The Senior Citizens' Advisory Board invites you to a discussion on "Settling in to life in Bocholt"

How do you settle into a new town, and what are the defining impressions of your first few weeks there? To address these questions, the Bocholt Senior Citizens' Advisory Council is organising a public discussion at the Historic Town Hall on Wednesday, 16 September 2026. Admission is free, and people who have moved to Bocholt from other parts of Germany or from abroad will share their personal experiences.

The event begins at 5 pm in the Historic Town Hall. Following a welcome from the members of the Senior Citizens' Advisory Board and a musical interlude, the focus will be on direct dialogue. In a moderated discussion, several newcomers will describe their reasons for moving to Bocholt, talk about their initial expectations and highlight both positive experiences and the challenges they faced whilst settling in. Particular emphasis will be placed on the question of how they managed to forge connections and integrate into city life through various avenues and encounters.

At around 6 pm, a break featuring musical entertainment and cold drinks will give participants and the audience the opportunity for personal conversations. In the second part of the event, the guests will share their personal reflections, offer insights into areas for improvement and provide practical advice for newcomers. To conclude, visitors will have the opportunity to put their own questions to the panel. The event ends at around 7 pm.

The Senior Citizens' Advisory Council represents the interests of the older generation in Bocholt vis-à-vis the council and the local administration.
