City informs about participation in the Seniors' Advisory Council

Information event at LernWerk on 11 June 2025

The city of Bocholt cordially invites all interested citizens aged 55 and over to an information event on participation in the Seniors' Advisory Council. This will take place on Wednesday, 11 June 2025, at 5 p.m. in the Lernwerk.

The current members of the Seniors' Advisory Council will work together with the City of Bocholt's Seniors' Office to provide information about the committee's diverse tasks. They will also report on important projects and initiatives that the Seniors' Advisory Council has successfully initiated and supported over the past 30 years.

In addition, participants will find out how they can stand as candidates for the upcoming election of the Seniors' Advisory Council on 8 October 2025. "The Seniors' Advisory Council consists of 21 members, some of whom will now be stepping down after two terms of office", explains Christian Tewiele from the City of Bocholt's Seniors' Office. "This is a great opportunity for interested people aged 55 and over to contribute new ideas and make a difference for the senior citizens of our city together with the city administration and the council."

In addition to the six meetings a year - four of which are public meetings - ideas for Bocholt are developed in working groups that meet individually on various topics such as mobility and safety or education, culture and leisure. But the community is not neglected either, as can be seen in the photo of the day trip to our twin town Bocholt (Belgium) last year.

Anyone who wants to actively make a difference for the older generation in Bocholt and realise ideas together with other stakeholders should definitely not miss this event.

If you are unable to attend the event, you can contact the senior citizens' office by phone or e-mail for further information.
