FW Bocholt: Hazardous substance leak with one injured person in the industrial park
Bocholt fire brigade (ots) -
The Bocholt fire brigade was called to a haulage company in the Bocholt industrial park at around 03:30 on Friday night. In the company concerned, an employee had noticed a product leak of hazardous material and injured himself.
The company immediately evacuated the affected area. The injured person was treated on site by the emergency services and transported to Bocholt hospital for further treatment.
In addition to the full-time members of the Bocholt fire brigade, volunteers from the hazardous materials task force were also alerted due to the hazardous materials incident. The emergency services were able to recover the damaged containers using chemical protection suits and thus eliminate the danger. The emergency services from Bocholt were also supported by specially trained emergency services from the Isselburg-Werth and Rhede fire brigades.
An ambulance from the Bocholt German Red Cross (DRK) provided personal protection at the scene.
A total of 50 firefighters with 14 vehicles were deployed.
