FW Bocholt: Fire brigade prevents fire from spreading to attic
Bocholt fire brigade (ots) -
The Bocholt fire brigade was called to Ferdinandstraße on the corner of Dinxperloer Straße at around 11:52 am. The first emergency services to arrive found a fire on a balcony on the first floor that had already spread to the neighbouring room. As a result, an external attack was immediately initiated during the investigation phase as well as an internal attack with a team wearing heavy breathing protection. Due to the initially unclear situation, volunteer firefighters were also alerted to the scene by the operations centre before arrival due to several emergency calls received. It was possible to prevent the flames from spreading to the rest of the flat on the first floor and to the roof. The occupant was treated by the emergency services for suspected smoke inhalation and taken to hospital. A total of 25 firefighters with 6 vehicles were deployed for approx. 1.5 hours.
