FW Bocholt: Construction worker fell into excavation pit

At midday today, a construction worker on a building site in the Messingstraße area fell from a scaffolding from a great height. He sustained life-threatening injuries in the fall.

The Bocholt fire brigade assisted the Bocholt city rescue service in treating the patient and carried out the technical rescue of the construction worker from the excavation pit. He was then taken to St Agnes Hospital by ambulance with an accompanying emergency doctor. Fourteen fire and rescue service personnel were tied up on site for around an hour.

The emergency services then travelled on to the Bocholt industrial estate. There, an automatic fire alarm system had signalled a fire alarm. However, this quickly turned out to be a false alarm.
