FW Bocholt: +++Martinsabend Feuerwehr, Bocholt Löschzug Suderwick+++ - Honours and promotions-

Bocholt Fire Brigade (ots) -

Last Saturday, 07.11.2025, the operational department and the honorary department of the Suderwick fire brigade as well as the youth fire brigade of the Bocholt volunteer fire brigade - Suderwick group - accompanied the St Martin's procession and helped to secure the route.

Following the Martinmas procession in Suderwick, the traditional Martinmas evening of the Suderwick fire brigade took place in the fire station in Suderwick.

The head of the Bocholt fire brigade - Dirk Arping - and his deputy Marco Heisterkamp were able to honour the following:
For 50 years of active service in the fire brigade, Sub-Fire Chief Helmut Jansen received the NRW Fire Brigade Badge of Honour in gold with gold wreath.

Sub-Fire Chief Elmar Döink and Sub-Fire Chief Robert Klaassen were awarded the NRW Fire Brigade Decoration of Honour in gold for 35 years of active service in the fire brigade.

Bernhard Essing, Burkhard Scheer, Hans-Joachim Teriete and Werner Vienenkötter received special thanks for 50 years of loyal and comradely service in the Bocholt volunteer fire brigade.

Sonja Rexwinkel, Ursula Scheer, Andreas Teriete and Sabine Teriete received the certificate of honour from the Association of Fire Brigades in NRW for 40 years of membership in the fire brigade.

Joel Böhnicke, Louis Marquardt and Stefan Willing received the certificate of honour from the Association of Fire Services in NRW for 10 years' membership of the fire service.

The head of the fire brigade, Dirk Arping, was able to promote Sophie Reyering to senior firefighter due to her good service and completed training.

For three years now, the comrades from the Suderwick fire brigade and the Dinxperlo fire brigade have been taking part together in the district performance test of the fire brigades in the Borken district. All three international groups from Dinxperwick delivered outstanding performances at the performance test in Legden-Asbeck in September 2025. The presentation of the certificates and diplomas therefore took a considerable amount of time.

The official agenda was followed by the cosy part of the evening. Firstly, we had dinner together. As every year, kale with sausages and thick ribs was on the menu. Afterwards, all those present had ample opportunity to talk about the joint missions, experiences and events in 2025 and to reminisce about the good things, but also the challenges.
