Christmas parcels for Ukrainian children // Cooperation with "Helfende Hände" and the volunteer agency
The Christmas parcel campaign for Verkhniodniprovsk is already running very successfully. Until Wednesday, 10 December 2025, citizens can hand in further gift packages at the volunteer agency or directly to the city of Bocholt in the building at Kaiser-Wilhelm-Straße 52-58.
The city of Bocholt is delighted with the exceptionally high level of participation in this year's Christmas parcel campaign for the Ukrainian twin town of Verkhniodniprovsk. Since the start of the campaign, numerous lovingly wrapped gifts have been handed in every day to bring a little Christmas joy to local children and young people.
"The great response shows how important it is for the people of Bocholt to stay together with our twin town. Every donation makes a difference", says First City Councillor Björn Volmering. "I would like to thank all the citizens and the committed organisations for their impressive willingness to help. They are making a valuable contribution to young people who have to experience Christmas under difficult conditions."
A key component of this success is the close cooperation with the "Helping Hands" association, which has been committed to helping people in Ukraine for many years and is once again a central partner of the campaign this year. Equally indispensable is the commitment of the volunteers from the Volunteer Agency and other participating groups who take care of receiving, sorting and preparing the parcels. The city of Bocholt would like to expressly thank everyone involved for their great commitment and support.
The parcels can still be handed in at the Bocholt Volunteer Agency and at the city council information centre until Wednesday, 10 December. It is important that all parcels are fully packed and that the required customs list is completed and enclosed. Unfortunately, food donations are not possible. As in previous years, transport will be organised by Blau Gelbe Kreuz e.V. so that the gifts arrive in Verkhniodniprovsk in time for Christmas.
