Bocholt is collecting Christmas parcels for children in Verkhnodniprovsk

Submissions can be made at various locations until 3 December

The town of Bocholt, together with the charity "Helfende Hände St. Josef Bocholt e.V.", the Rotary Club of Bocholt and other dedicated partners, is launching the Christmas parcel campaign "Bocholt helps Verkhnodniprovsk". The aim is once again to provide Christmas presents for children and young people in the Ukrainian twin town.

Residents can fill a standard shoebox with presents and wrap them in festive wrapping paper. For customs reasons, a list of contents must be attached to the outside, stating the number of items, their weight, and details of the recipient's gender and age group. The relevant forms are available online at bocholt.de/weihnachtspaketeukraine, as well as at various public offices and at the Bocholt Volunteer Agency. Empty boxes can also be collected from there if required.

Suitable gifts include, for example, art and stationery supplies, dolls, toy cars, jigsaw puzzles, soft toys and games of skill. Personal care items such as toothbrushes, shampoo, shower gel or towels, as well as hats, scarves, gloves and socks, are also welcome. Items that should not be included in the parcels include, amongst others, used or broken items, war-themed toys, electronic devices, batteries, food, medicines, and liquid or fragile products.

The parcels, once packed and accompanied by the completed customs declaration form, can be handed in until Thursday 3 December 2026 at the Bocholt Volunteer Agency, Langenbergstraße 18, 46397 Bocholt, from Tuesday to Friday between 9.30 am and 12 noon, and additionally on Thursday afternoons from 2 pm to 6.30 pm. They can also be handed in at the Bocholt Town Council information desk in the Gigaset building, Kaiser-Wilhelm-Straße 52-58, 46395 Bocholt, from Monday to Thursday from 8 am to 5 pm and on Fridays from 8 am to 12.30 pm, and on Saturdays from 10 am to 12 noon at the warehouse of "Helfende Hände St. Josef e.V." at the Westend roundabout, Westend 31-39, 46399 Bocholt.

On the first weekend in December, the collected parcels will be transported by lorry to Verkhnodniprovsk so that they reach the children and young people in time for Christmas.
