Suddenly a family: Financial support during parental leave
Online seminar provides information on pension entitlements, insurance and financial security for couples during parental leave
If one parent reduces their working hours and earns less as a result of taking parental leave, this can have long-term financial consequences for both partners. An online seminar on Tuesday 10 November 2026 at 7 pm will explain how to offset loss of income and safeguard pension entitlements and insurance cover.
Simone Bußmann, a financial adviser, provides an overview of ways to offset financial disadvantages during parental leave. Key topics include how to make up for lost pension entitlements, which insurance policies are particularly important during this stage of life, and how to avoid financial shortfalls. Legal aspects and specific ways of providing long-term financial security for both partners will also be discussed.
The aim of the event is to raise awareness amongst couples about the financial implications of parental leave and to highlight ways of ensuring fair financial security for both partners.
Bocholt's Equal Opportunities Officer, Astrid Schupp, warmly invites all interested women to take part. The online seminar is part of the "Woman & Career" series of events organised by the municipal equal opportunities officers in the Borken district.
