A warm welcome for new residents, including a guided tour of the town

Bocholt. On Thursday evening, Bocholt's Economic Development Agency, in collaboration with the City of Bocholt, once again welcomed residents who had moved to Bocholt over the past year to a special reception followed by a guided tour of the town.

The new residents received the invitation to this evening after registering at the Tourist Information Office. A total of 15 new residents of Bocholt, together with their companions, accepted the invitation and - due to the weather - gathered under the arcades in front of the historic town hall rather than at the evening market as in previous years. Ludger Dieckhues, Managing Director of Bocholt Economic Development, and Gudrun Koppers, Deputy Mayor, welcomed the guests and highlighted the many advantages that make Bocholt such a liveable and lovable town. In their speeches, they emphasised the importance of community and solidarity and invited the new residents to take an active part in city life. The Economic Development team provided the new residents with Bocholt bags filled with information material and giveaways, as well as vouchers for an ice cream or a drink, before setting off on a tour of Bocholt town centre with city guide Julia Holtkamp-Schlatt. This gave Bocholt's "newcomers" the chance to make contacts, share experiences and strike up conversations with one another straight away. The event thus once again highlighted Bocholt's commitment to giving new arrivals a warm welcome and integrating them into city life. Such evenings not only encourage interaction but also strengthen the sense of community and deepen the new residents' connection to their new home.
