Bocholt at EXPO Real 2026

The Bocholt Economic Development Agency is once again represented at this year's EXPO Real in Munich - returning after a two-year hiatus as a partner of Münsterland e.V. at the Münsterland joint stand.

At EXPO Real, almost all of Germany's major economic regions, along with many project developers, property companies, investors, consultancy, investment and financing firms, as well as numerous retail and construction companies, are showcasing their work across approximately 75,000 square metres of exhibition space. Around 42,000 trade visitors from 70 countries and more than 1,700 exhibitors make the fair a major "ecosystem" for property, investment and infrastructure. This makes it the most important international trade fair for property and investment in Europe; it has been held every October since 1998. This year, it takes place from 5 to 7 October.

The property sector is currently facing major challenges: rising construction and financing costs, a shortage of land and longer planning processes are changing the framework conditions for projects. This also applies to the Westmünsterland region.

At the same time, the region boasts key location advantages: economic stability, a strong SME sector, a high quality of life and its close proximity to the Netherlands. With its industrial park covering around 350 hectares, further commercial and development sites, and the Westphalian University of Applied Sciences, Bocholt offers excellent conditions for businesses and investment.

Increasingly, this is not just about developing new sites. The further development of existing sites, the revitalisation of property and the future of town centres also play an important role. Property development is therefore always also about location development.
