Waste collection comes one day later due to Shrove Monday

Waste collection postponed by one day // Recycling centre and administration closed on Monday.

Bocholt. On Rose Monday, 16 February 2026, there will be no waste collection by Entsorgungs- und Servicebetrieb Bocholt (ESB). The emptying of all waste containers will therefore be postponed by one day this week. In addition, the recycling centre and the administration will be closed on Shrove Monday.

As there is no regular waste collection in the city on Shrove Monday, the entire collection schedule for this week has been postponed. The bins will be collected one day later than usual, meaning that the regular Friday collection will not take place until Saturday. To ensure that the collection teams can make rapid progress, the bins must be outside from 6 a.m. onwards. The ESB emphasises that waste next to the bins cannot be taken away.

The recycling centre will be closed as usual on Shrove Monday, but will reopen on Tuesday at the usual times from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm and on Saturdays from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm. While all areas of the ESB will be working as normal on Weiberfastnacht, the administration offices on Benzstraße and Schaffeldstraße will be completely closed on Shrove Monday.
