At the ESB bulky waste exchange, there are treasures both big and small to discover.Wanted: items in good condition for a good cause
ESB is now collecting items in good condition for the bulky waste exchange
The Bocholt Waste Management and Services Company (ESB) is organising its next bulky waste exchange and is calling on residents to donate items in good condition with immediate effect. The event will take place on Saturday 5 September, from 10 am to 12 noon, in the vehicle hall on Schaffeldstraße. All proceeds from the sale will this time go towards the Arbeiterwohlfahrt (AWO)'s supported living scheme.
In the cellar, the loft, cupboards and chests, all sorts of little treasures have accumulated that are too good to throw away. The recycling centre is happy to accept these items for sale at the bulky waste market. During opening hours, items in good condition can be dropped off there, such as decorative items, toys, musical instruments, chairs, garden furniture or pictures. "Experience shows that the items that sell best are those you can easily tuck under your arm or pack into the boot of your car. Curiosities are also very popular. Large pieces of furniture, such as cupboards, on the other hand, do not find takers at the bulky waste exchange", explains waste advisor Petra Tacke.
There are a few practical tips to bear in mind when dropping off items. Fragile items such as porcelain, ceramics or glass should be securely packed in cardboard boxes for transport. The ESB cannot collect the items, so you must deliver them yourself. Staff at the recycling centre decide on the spot, based on their many years of experience, whether the items brought in are suitable for resale. All accepted items remain in the collection and are offered for sale exclusively on the day of the event.
The recycling centre is open from Tuesday to Friday, 9 am to 6 pm, and on Saturdays from 9 am to 1 pm. It is closed on Mondays. For further questions and detailed information, please contact the ESB's waste advisory service by telephone on 02871 953-3434.
