ESB offers additional leaf bins from the end of September

So that garden leaves don't blow up the organic waste bin - easy lending, short distances, fair fees

With the first cool days, the autumn colours begin to change in Bocholt - and with them, the leaves start to fall. The regular volume of the organic waste bin is quickly exhausted, especially with large trees. The waste disposal and service company (ESB) will therefore be providing additional leaf bins again from the end of September.

The aim is to make the disposal of leaves convenient, environmentally friendly and without overflowing organic waste bins. The leaf bins can be collected from the ESB recycling centre at Schaffeldstraße 74 during opening hours. There is a usage fee of 24 euros per leaf bin for the three-month seasonal period. If you don't want to collect the bin yourself, you can have it delivered for a transport fee of 10 euros per transport - just give us a call or send us a short e-mail with your name and address.

Practical and resource-saving: after the season, the leaf bins can remain with the borrower. This eliminates unnecessary transport. In late summer, anyone who keeps the bin "over the winter" automatically receives the seasonal sticker for the next leaf season. Of course, the bins can also be returned; the ESB will take care of the return transport on request for a fee of 10 euros.

The bins are emptied during the fortnightly organic waste collection: simply place the leaf bins next to them - they will be emptied at the same time until the end of the year. From January onwards, leaf bins will no longer be emptied. The use of leaf bins is limited to the Bocholt city area; outdoor areas without organic waste bins are excluded from the regulation.

A tip from the waste advisory service: Leave leaves in the garden under trees, bushes and hedges if possible. The natural layer of leaves protects soil organisms, acts as an organic fertiliser and helps to prevent the soil from drying out. The leaf bin is therefore a useful addition - for example, where more leaves accumulate than can be ecologically utilised in the garden.
