Christmas tree campaign at the cemetery enters its third edition

Balls with greetings to the deceased // Proceeds for the Bocholt food bank // Event on the 3rd Advent with music and encounters

Following the great response of previous years, the Christmas tree campaign at Bocholt's main cemetery is now in its third edition. The private initiators Ingo Damhus and Susanne Hülskamp-Seesing, supported by numerous volunteers and committed business people, are once again inviting people to design Christmas baubles with a personal greeting to the deceased and hang them on the decorated trees in the cemetery.

The city of Bocholt's waste disposal and service company (ESB) is putting up several Christmas trees in the main cemetery on Blücherstraße due to the great interest and is creating an atmospheric ambience with fairy lights. The baubles can be hung on the trees from 30 November 2025, the first Sunday in Advent. Sales will start on 1 November in various shops in Bocholt.

The proceeds from the campaign will once again go to the Bocholt food bank. "We are delighted that the high level of participation in previous years has enabled us to make a considerable donation", emphasise the organisers.

A special highlight this year will once again be the event at the mourning hall on the third Sunday in Advent (14 December). Balls can be purchased there between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and can be calligraphed directly if desired. Coffee and cake, music and lots of personal conversations create a special, contemplative atmosphere.

The baubles are provided by Hagebaumarkt on Werther Straße at cost price. Sales outlets include various Bocholt flower shops, a bakery, a care service, a hairdressing salon and a stonemason's business.

The aim of the campaign is to bring the topic of death and mourning more into the centre of society and to create a place of remembrance and solidarity.

Sales outlets from 1 November: Blumen Flores, Blumen Stratmann, Blumen Willing, Blumen Wilken, Blumen Nienhaus, Bäckerei Ulrich, Steinmetzbetrieb Lorei, Pflegedienst Marion Moritz, Salon Figaro.
