The City Library invites all participants to this year's "Oskar Gala"
On 25 September 2026 at 4 pm, participants in this year's Summer Reading Club will be able to celebrate and receive their rewards at the City Library. At the grand "Oskar Gala", the coveted Reading Oscars will be awarded in various categories. As a special highlight, guests can look forward to an interactive reading with Lisa Engels from "Nelson Schreck%$.
An exciting summer of reading is drawing to a close, as the end of the summer holidays also marks the end of the 2026 Summer Reading Club at Bocholt Municipal Library. For six weeks, all participants have been able to read, attend exciting events, get creative and make free use of the entire range of services offered by the Bocholt Municipal Library.
""The end of the Summer Reading Club is a special highlight every year, as it gives us the chance to marvelling at the participants' creative contributions and look back together on a varied summer of reading,"" says Claudia Alders from Bocholt Municipal Library.
Logbooks, reading boxes and more can be handed in until 4 September
Once again this year, all Summer Reading Club participants are invited to hand in their logbooks, self-designed reading boxes, stories and entries for the various competitions. It's well worth taking part, as the entries submitted stand a chance of winning one of the coveted Reading Oscars, which will be awarded at the "Oscar Gala". All logbooks, reading boxes and other entries can be handed in directly at Bocholt Municipal Library until 4 September 2026.

As the grand finale of the Summer Reading Club, all participants can look forward to being celebrated for their summer of reading. At the grand Oskar Gala on 25 September 2026 at 4 pm, the most beautiful and creative entries will be recognised and the coveted Reading Oscars awarded. Participants can hope to win an award in various categories. Alongside the popular categories centred on creative reading boxes, stories and special reading experiences, creative entries such as BookFaces and BookCovers are, of course, also a must.
A special highlight of the closing event is the interactive reading with Lisa Engels from "Nelson Schreck%$. Guests can look forward not only to an exciting story, but also to a special shared reading experience.
The closing ceremony, attended by Deputy Mayor Gudrun Koppers, is exclusively for participants in the Summer Reading Club and their accompanying adults. Attendance is free of charge.
