Knitting desired! - Cosy knitting reading in the city library
Author Susanne Oswald presents two feel-good novels // Bocholt reads! on 24 March 2026 at 19:30 // Advance booking price: 9 euros, box office: 10 euros
A special reading will take place on 24 March as part of Bocholt liest! Bestselling author Susanne Oswald will be presenting two of her latest works during the event: "Mörderisch verstrickt" and "as Glück liegt am Meer". She also invites the audience to get active themselves and work on a knitting project alongside the reading.
In the new crime novel "Murderously Entangled - A Knitting Club Investigates", a group of knitting enthusiasts meet regularly in the shop "Strickschick". When a robbery and shortly afterwards a murder shake the coastal idyll, the knitting club itself begins to investigate. Warm-hearted, exciting and with loving details about knitting, Oswald combines cosy crime with a real feel-good factor - including knitting instructions.
The new instalment in Oswald's coastal magic series "Happiness by the Sea" takes us to Kiekersum. While Bentje and Jasper plan their future together, an encounter with a pomologist brings unrest to the boarding house "Lüttje Glück". Between old apple varieties, jealousy and a gathering storm, a moving coastal novel full of emotions, familiar characters and North German atmosphere unfolds.
Own knitting projects welcome
The reading promises to be an atmospheric evening with humour, suspense and a feel-good atmosphere. Visitors are expressly invited to bring their own knitting project - in keeping with the spirit of the evening: knitting is encouraged!
The head of the novel department, Klaudia Kroesen, is also looking forward to the event: "We have already experienced many exciting readings, but when people are knitting at the same time, it is the best proof for us that literature really connects people. And don't worry: dropped stitches are allowed - just don't lose the thread of the story!"
Registration at the VHS and the city library
The event will take place on 24 March at the Bocholt City Library at 7:30 pm, admission starts at 7 pm. The reading is a co-operation event with the VHS Bocholt-Rhede-Isselburg and the Seitenblick bookshop and is supported by the Association of Friends and Sponsors of the Bocholt-Rhede-Isselburg Adult Education Centre, the City Library and JUNGE UNI in Bocholt e.V. Tickets are available in advance for 9 euros at www.vhs-bocholt.de, at the VHS office or in the City Library and for 10 euros at the box office.
