Proceeds from the city library's book flea market will be donated to "Engagement für Menschen und deren Rechte e.V."
After the big Easter book flea market at Bocholt City Library, the proceeds collected this year totalling 1480 euros were handed over to the association "Menschen und deren Rechte e.V.".
Once again this year, the city library organised a donation-based book flea market in addition to the Easter holiday programme, the proceeds of which are intended to support charitable causes in Bocholt. "The book flea market always offers us the opportunity to provide well-preserved media for small donations", says Melanie Tenhumberg, Head of the City Library. "We make sure that there is something for everyone and that every visitor leaves the library with a little something", she explains.
Presentation of the donation cheque
A symbolic cheque for 1480 euros was presented to the association "Engagement für Menschen und deren Rechte e.V.". Ulrik Störzer, member of the association's board, accepted the cheque and then explained the association's aims and areas of activity. The organisation is committed to helping people who have no or insufficient health insurance.
Jule Wanders, Head of the Department of Culture and Education, is delighted with the generosity of the donors at the book flea market: "Our thanks go to the people of Bocholt who took up the offer and donated in large numbers for a good cause. It is always a great feeling to bring joy to others and create opportunities for support together."
A token of appreciation for the commitment shown
Jule Wanders and Melanie Tenhumberg emphasise that this donation not only supports the EMRE association, but is also a token of appreciation for the valuable work that is carried out together with the advisory network and the cooperating organisations and associations "with a lot of heart and commitment".
