City library switches to new online system

New version "Onleihe 3" with significant improvements // Changeover on 28 April

On 28 April, Bocholt City Library, together with the muensterload.de online lending network, is switching to the new version of its online services "Onleihe 3". For the 14 participating libraries, this step means a significant further development of digital lending - with more convenience, improved usability and numerous new functions.

The fundamentally revised platform makes using the digital library even easier and more accessible. Users will benefit from enhancements: In future, all types of media can be conveniently renewed, while cross-device synchronisation ensures that reading and listening progress is automatically synchronised between the app and web Onleihe.

Onleihe 3 also offers an unlimited watch list, a personal loan history and a dark mode. The new version also goes one step further technically: the new Onleihe app is available to download free of charge for smartphones and tablets with Android and iOS in the respective app stores and replaces the previous application.

Anyone using the eLibrary on a PC, laptop or on e-readers such as tolino or PocketBook can access the library selection directly via the central platform "www.meine.onleihe.de" and register there. "With Onleihe 3, we are taking a big step towards the future of digital library use", says Marita Wormland, IT Coordinator at the city library.

"It was particularly important to us to offer our users a modern, intuitive and accessible platform that makes borrowing books as easy and convenient as possible. The new functions, such as cross-device synchronisation or the personal watch list, create a significantly improved user experience - whether on a smartphone, tablet or PC. We are delighted to be able to further develop this service together with the association."

One particular advantage is that anyone interested can explore Onleihe 3 without registering. This makes it easy to familiarise yourself with the service before you need a library card. Extensive information, technical requirements and helpful instructions can also be found online in the central help area at "www.hilfe.onleihe.de".
