Bocholt City Library organises Advent raffle for a good cause

24 Advent doors with great prizes // Tickets now available for one euro at the city library and Suderwick branch // Proceeds for Bocholt's "Tafel" food bank

Bocholt City Library is organising a raffle in the run-up to Christmas. There are great prizes to be won. The proceeds go to a good cause. This time, the Bocholt "Tafel", which supports citizens with food, will be supported.

"The Bocholt City Library cordially invites all citizens to take part in this year's Advent raffle. With the aim of helping people in need, 24 great prizes will be raffled off. The raffle tickets will be available from 2 November for just 1 euro in the city library," says Melanie Tenhumberg, head of the library.

"Taking part in the raffle is very easy," explain Romina Raske and Elisa Rickert from the city library team. The raffle tickets can be purchased throughout the month of November. All the tickets collected will be placed in a large lottery pot, from which an "Advent door" will be drawn every day in December until Christmas by the city library team with a short video. The ticket numbers of the daily winners will be announced on the city library's Instagram channel, on the city library's website and at the library. The prizes can be collected from the library during opening hours on presentation of the ticket.

Vouchers, tickets, books and much more to be won

Among the numerous prizes are vouchers and products from Bocholt shops, suppliers and restaurants that are supporting the campaign with great prizes. These include, for example, the Mission House - Escape Room, the "Kraftraum" bouldering hall, "Björn's Kostbar im Tagwerk", Café Sahne, local bookshops and many others. Of course, the city's educational institutions such as the city library, the JUNGE UNI and the VHS are also taking part. There are vouchers for "Bocholt reads" events or VHS lectures to be won.

A special highlight is the chance to win an arcade voucher worth 100 euros. Melanie Tenhumberg emphasises: "We are very happy that so many partners were willing to support us in this campaign. We have collected some extraordinary prizes. It's worth taking part!"

Proceeds go to the "Tafel Bocholt e.V." charity

"It is important to us to support committed institutions and organisations. I am therefore delighted that, in addition to book flea markets in spring and autumn, we are able to implement another fundraising campaign at the end of the year and support a local contact point," says Isabel Testroet, Head of the Municipal Educational Institutions Division, enthusiastically.

All of the proceeds from the sale of the raffle tickets will be donated to "Tafel Bocholt e.V.". The Tafel is committed to helping those in need and minimising food waste. It collects food and other necessary goods from local food retailers and producers in Bocholt, Isselburg and the surrounding area. In addition to donations in kind, Tafel Bocholt e.V. can also be supported by donations of money and time in the form of voluntary work.
