Mayor Mangen hands over the keys for the first time at the proclamation of the prince and princess couples

On Saturday, 15 November, at 11:11 a.m., the new 2025/2026 carnival season was rung in on the market square in front of the historic town hall. It was a special moment for Mayor Christian Mangen - for the first time as the newly elected mayor, he handed over the symbolic city keys to the new regents of the Bocholt carnival.

Max I and Julia I were ceremoniously proclaimed as the city prince and princess and Lasse I and Milla I as the children's prince and princess to much applause. Their motto for the session, "The time is ripe", was met with enthusiasm by the many fools who had gathered on the market square.

The highlights of the event included the handing over of the keys, the entry of the prince and princess couples in the city's Golden Book, the handing over of the regalia and the presentation of the new session songs. The prince and princess couples were accompanied by the city prince guard, numerous Bocholt clubs and dance and music groups, who provided an atmospheric programme.
