Bocholt audience chooses the best films in Europe
LUX Audience Award 2026: Free cinema experience at the Kinodrom // Cinema fans help decide the European Film Award
The city of Bocholt and EUROPE DIRECT Bocholt are inviting all film enthusiasts to vote for the best European film productions as part of the LUX Audience Award 2026. On four dates in January and February, nominated works will be presented free of charge at Kinodrom Bocholt. After the screening, participants will have the opportunity to submit a rating online and win a trip to the awards ceremony in Brussels.
The film "Christy" will be shown in its original English language on 30 January. This will be followed on 6 February by the Spanish production "DEAF (Sorda)". On 20 February, the film "It was just an accident" is on the programme, before the series concludes on 27 February with "Sentimental Value". The latter is a particular highlight of this year's programme, as it has been nominated for nine Oscars in addition to the LUX nomination. Each film starts at 6 pm.
The audience's opinion will contribute 50 per cent to the final result of the Europe-wide competition. Voting is easy via smartphone using a QR code or link provided on the evening of the screening. All citizens who take part in the evaluation process will automatically be entered into a prize draw for a trip to the award ceremony in Brussels. The voting period officially ends in March.
Registrations for the free screenings will be accepted by the Bocholt Adult Education Centre. Those interested can register online at vhs.bocholt.de, by telephone or in person at the LernWerk office. As no fixed tickets are issued, it is advisable to arrive in good time. The series of events is made possible by the support of local organisations such as the Europa-Union Bocholt, the German-French Society, the German-British Society and the Centro Cultural Español Bocholt.
