• A three-year apprenticeship at Entsorgungs- und Servicebetrieb Bocholt (ESB) with theoretical lessons at the vocational college in Borken

Gardeners specialising in gardening and landscaping are employed, for example

• in specialised gardening, landscaping and sports field construction companies
• in municipal horticultural businesses and
• in botanical and zoological gardens

For special groups of people, there is also the opportunity to train as a specialised horticulturalist at the city of Bocholt's waste disposal and service company (ESB).

In individual cases, training as a horticulturalist can also be considered for pupils with special needs who do not have a secondary school leaving certificate.
