The three-year training programme takes place in the municipal carpentry workshop in Schaffeldstraße in Bocholt, with the vocational school training taking place at the Bocholt-West vocational college.
The 1st year of training includes
- an overview of the different types of wood and their characteristics,
- the processing of wood with different tools,
- the production of wooden joints and the attachment of fittings and
- the production of plastic joints by welding and gluing
The 2nd year of training includes
- the cutting of wood and wood-based materials to optimise cutting,
- operating and setting up programme-controlled machines
- the production of frames, racks and moulded parts and
- the finishing of surfaces using different materials
The 3rd year of training includes
- the production of jigs and fixtures for assembly,
- repairing damage,
- carrying out dismantling work and
- carrying out quality assurance measures
