If you're looking for a concert that gets under your skin, you shouldn't miss this evening: The German-Dutch duo w o l k e will be performing at the Alte Molkerei Bocholt on 30 May. With their unique blend of poetic pop, spherical soundscapes and electronic beats, Katrin Ebbert (vocals, bass, loop station) and Bjørn-Olle Gruben (vocals, guitar) create sound spaces that touch the listener.

"You are good the way you are" - this sentence runs like a red thread through the music of w o l k e. A call for self-acceptance, sung with a voice that sounds like sunlight after a rainy day.

w o l k e was founded in 2016 by Katrin Ebbert, who previously toured as a bassist with artists such as Marla Glen and DSDS winner Mike Leon Grosch and played at festivals such as Rock am Ring, but is now breaking new ground with her own music. Classically trained guitarist Bjørn-Olle Gruben has enriched the project since 2021 - his soulful playing is reminiscent of artists such as Ben Howard and gives w o l k e's songs additional depth.

In 2021, the duo was commissioned by Dutch television to write the single "Grenzenlos" - a song about the German-Dutch border between Süderwick and Dinxperlo, which still symbolises w o l k e's bridging of cultures, emotions and musical worlds.

Live, the duo impresses with its intimate atmosphere and sonic sophistication. In their luggage: the current album "Hinter der Unschuld" (2024) - a work full of dreamy melodies, electronic nuances and poetic lyrics.
