The special film "Without truth"
On Tuesday, 28 October 2025, the city of Bocholt will present the exciting thriller "Ohne Wahrheit" starring Friedrich Bochröder as part of the "er besondere Film" series.
The young director was inspired by a newspaper article eight years ago that uncovered the alleged machinations of a pharmaceutical company. Homeless people were taking part in drug tests without being informed, which ended fatally for some. She shot this feature-length thriller in her small hometown of Leer in East Frisia without film funding and with around 700 volunteer extras.
Nickolas Schott (Friedrich Bochröder) is an ambitious lawyer and father of a small family. He has won his most controversial case to date, but his wife suddenly dies under mysterious circumstances. Despite the supposedly natural cause of death, this cannot be a coincidence. When Nick himself becomes a murder suspect shortly afterwards, he has to go into hiding and comes across a gang of homeless people in the city's underground who earn their "living" with illegal drug tests. Gradually, a system emerges in which Nick also seems to play a decisive role.
The film lasts 120 minutes. The film was directed by Ilka Sparringa.
