The special film "Couscous and Secrets"
French comedy - Mehdi is passionate about cooking. He loves French cuisine and his independent business partner, Lea. He doesn't want his conservative Algerian mother, Fatima, to find out about either of them. But when Lea insists on meeting his mother, chaos ensues.
Mehdi, a young Algerian chef, leads a double life that is putting him under increasing strain: during the day, he works alongside his partner Lea as a chef in a bistro, indulging his passion for French culinary culture. In the evenings, however, he plays the perfect son in front of his Algerian mother, Fatima, keeping not only his relationship with Lea a secret from her, but also his enthusiasm for French cuisine.
At first, this balancing act seems to be working, but Mehdi hasn't reckoned with Lea. She wants to finally meet his mother at some point and no longer remain in the shadows. Mehdi is desperately searching for a solution to reconcile these two worlds. He enlists an actress to pretend to be his cosmopolitan mother in front of Lea, but things get completely out of hand. His desperate attempts to keep all his secrets hidden cause ever more chaos and throw his life into turmoil.
The film runs for 105 minutes. It was directed by Amine Adjina.
