The special film "Bugonia"
Oscar-nominated science fiction comedy // Screening on Tuesday, 26 May 2026 at the Kinodrom // Admission 7 euros.
As part of the "KINO Bocholt - the special film" series, the Oscar-nominated science fiction comedy "Bugonia" will be shown on Tuesday, 26 May 2026. The film by director Yorgos Lanthimos is a remake of the South Korean black science fiction comedy "Save The Green Planet!" (2003). The two leading actors (Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons) are convincing with their idiosyncratic performances, which could hardly be more different. The film starts at 8 pm at the Kinodrom.
Michelle (Emma Stone), the ice-cold boss of a biotech company, has been kidnapped by Teddy (Jesse Plemons), a henchman in the company, and tries to intimidate her kidnapper. But he is a conspiracy theorist and firmly convinced that it is not the boss but an alien queen from the Andromeda galaxy who is being held captive in his cellar. The hobby beekeeper not only blames her for the death of bees - he sees her as a threat to the whole of humanity and wants to stop the cloaked alien by any means necessary.
The film lasts 120 minutes.
The film was directed by Yorgos Lanthimos.
