Remember! Month of the War Grave in September 2025

The Second World War in Europe ended 80 years ago; a war with over 60 million dead worldwide. In North Rhine-Westphalia alone, there are over 2,100 war cemeteries with more than 330,000 dead from both world wars. They remind us of the consequences of the wars. In September, the focus is on war cemeteries. These sites serve as memorials and places of remembrance and can be discovered in the neighbourhood.

On 21 September, there will be a guided tour of the site of the former city forest camp with a visit to the war cemetery, organised by the Bocholt City Museum in cooperation with the Volksbund district association.
