I firmly believe that music is the most effective man-made instrument that reminds us of exactly that: our humanity. Music reveals and awakens our feelings. Even the hidden ones that are victims of our own denial. When we begin our lives, the goal is not to reach the inexorable end, but to live it. It is exactly the same with a musical work: its task is not to reach the inevitable "Coda", but to happen while it happens, and it is precisely its end that gives meaning to what has already happened. Music is life. There is deep and superficial music, happy and sad, hopeful and melancholic.... So it makes us remember (go through the heart again) and also forget. In Italian there is a curious fact, because there are two words that express forgetting. One is "dimenticare", which means to erase from memory, but "scordare" is also used, which means to take from the heart. The heart is the music. It is no coincidence that in music we speak of "pulse" and "phrasing" (which are so closely linked to breathing). In this concert, I invite you - even if only for a short time - to listen to and feel music, or in other words: to live a little piece of our humanity together.
