Prof Rosenberg became known through her close contacts with Emilie Schindler, the wife of Oskar Schindler. In over 70 hours of intensive dialogue, Emilie confided many previously unknown details of the couple's life to her. On this basis, Rosenberg published several books, which today are among the standard works on Oskar and Emilie Schindler worldwide.
Oskar Schindler, whose courageous actions achieved worldwide fame through the film Schindler's List, saved more than 1,200 Jews from certain death in the Nazi concentration camps together with his wife Emilie Schindler. His life shows how civil courage, humanity and the courage to resist can make history even under the most adverse circumstances.
In her lecture, Prof Rosenberg describes the personality and moving story of Oskar and Emilie Schindler from a unique perspective. She impressively conveys what it means not to look away in times of terror and injustice, but to take responsibility.
