He has been described in the international trade press as the perfect symbiosis of Springsteen, Tom Petty, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan & Neil Young and has been hailed in Germany as the new country rock hope.

In early 2022, McBannon travelled to Tennessee to record his new album in Johnny Cash's legendary Cash Cabin Studio. He was able to win over Johnny's Grammy-winning son John Carter Cash as producer.
