The City Museum team will guide visitors through the exhibition, not only exploring its content and themes but also providing in-depth insights into how the exhibition came about: from the initial planning and conceptualisation through to the creative realisation and the work with eyewitnesses.
What does it mean to have to leave one's home? And how can a new life begin in a foreign place?
At the heart of the exhibition are ten life stories of people now living in Bocholt whose lives have been shaped by their experiences of fleeing their home countries. They tell of farewells, uncertainties and the search for a new life.
Artworks by the Bocholt Art and Culture Association (Bocholter Kunst- und Kulturgemeinschaft e.V.) explore these themes and round off the exhibition.
