Heavy Steps - A Creative Tour of the Exhibition
Course fee: 6 euros // Registration required // Age group: 13-15 years
In this course, we'll explore the exhibition "Heavy Steps" together. In the exhibition area of the City Museum, you'll learn why people, both in the past and today, have had to leave their homes or have chosen to make a fresh start in another country. Together, we'll explore what flight and migration mean, and the feelings, challenges and hopes that can be associated with them. Afterwards, you can engage with the artworks by KuKuG members, either on your own or in small groups. The artists have explored the theme of flight and migration in different ways. Take a close look: what thoughts, stories or feelings do you discover in the works?
Try to find your own way of engaging with the artworks and capture your impressions creatively, for example in a drawing, a poem or a short piece of writing. What questions, thoughts or feelings about the topic of flight and migration do you recognise in the artworks? Which perspectives move you most? And how might you express these creatively yourself?
The lecturer, Nora Weßel, is a member of KuKuG and has contributed an artistic piece to the exhibition.
