Theatre in the evening

Monologue based on the novel by Thomas Mann, performed by the Westfälisches Landestheater Castrop-Rauxel.

Welcome to the life of the impostor: Felix is the child of a sparkling wine manufacturer who shows an early talent for acting. He manages to evade a conscription order by deception and makes a career as a bellboy in a Parisian hotel. Time and again he slips into situations that make it easy for him to lie, steal and pretend to be someone else. He is a captivating criminal that we cannot escape.

Thomas Mann was born in Lübeck in 1875. Mann was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1929, had to go into exile in the USA during the Nazi dictatorship and died in Zurich in 1955. He was one of the most important storytellers of the 20th century.
