18th WDR 5 Cabaret Festival

We welcome Hennes Bender to the 18th Kabarettfest at the Alte Molkerei, who will accompany us through the evening as a very lively and eloquent presenter.

For the 18th Kabarettfest we welcome Hennes Bender to the Alte Molkerei, who will accompany us through the evening as a very lively and eloquent presenter. His spontaneity and verbal capers, much appreciated by the audience, have developed over decades and have built a nest in the walls of the dairy, where they live out their existence until Hennes brings them back to life with his inimitable energy.

We are really looking forward to this evening, even though - as every year - only two more guests were known at the time of going to press.

Which two further guests he will present remains - as in previous years - a much-anticipated surprise that has never disappointed! They have all been honoured with awards.

He is definitely bringing two guests with "oe" with him:

Severin Groebner

On stage, he is a charmer, a shrewd chatterbox, an intellectual entertainer, a sharp satirist, a furious cabaret artist and a great comedian.

In private, he is even more unpleasant.

Apart from that, he was born in Vienna, is an Austrian by training, a former Munich resident and a Frankfurt resident. He writes satires and columns, but also glosses and other nonsense. He also likes to speak on the radio himself (WDR, Bayerischer Rundfunk, Ö1, Hr...) or sometimes even on TV (e.g.: Anstalt/ZDF, Tafelrunde/ORF, Schlachthof/BR,...). And sometimes also on the internet (he's everywhere, this guy).

In books, CDs and videos, the interested human being learns where Groebner comes from, where he goes, what he does in between, what he does for a living, how he writes, where he reads, when he sings, who he plays with, what he's enthusiastic about, what annoys him, who he likes and why he always likes to wrap even the simplest content in questions.

And that's why there's a Groebner page. To show all the pages of Groebner page by page. As long as you like it, otherwise we'll move on to other pages. Or strings. Or whatever...

Johannes Floehr

Growing up near Paris (in North Rhine-Westphalia), he developed a sense of fun as a child that has lasted to this day. No joke was safe from being told by him in the school playground. Not a joke!

Floehr has been performing on German-speaking stages as a participant in poetry slams since 2010. He reached the final of the NRW Slam 2016 in Bochum and came third in the Schauspielhaus Bochum. He also won the Compete youth literature prize from the Heinrich Heine Institute in 2014 for his short story Wie im Puppenhaus (Like in a Doll's House), which is dedicated to the topic of dementia. In 2023, he organised the NRW Slam in Krefeld and hosted the final at the Seidenweberhaus together with Bernard Hoffmeister.

Some of his work has appeared in various literary and satirical magazines, including regularly in titanic. Floehr also works as an author for various formats on funk, for Fun Facts and comedy formats on television and appears in programmes such as Nightwash, Vereinsheim Schwabing (BR), Comedy Talent Show (SRF 1), Zum Lachen ins Revier (WDR), Olafs Klub (MDR) and Till Reiners' Happy Hour (3sat).
