BOHJazz with saxophonist Christine Corvisier
On 4 May, the next concert in the BOHJazz series will take place in the Bocholt Skylounge. This time the French tenor saxophonist Christine Corvisier will accompany Christian Hassenstein's trio. Admission is free.

Curious visitors can once again look forward to interesting compositions by this unique combination. On Thursday, 4 May, Christine Corvisier will be a guest on tenor saxophone with Christian Hassenstein on guitar, Volker Heinze on bass and Rene Marx on drums. This BOHJazz evening will take place in cooperation with Europe Direct. The concert starts at 8 pm.
60 years ago, the Élysée Treaty was signed to ensure peace between France and Germany. On 22 January 1963, German Chancellor Konrad Adenauer and French President Charles de Gaulle signed the treaty at the Élysée Palace in Paris. To celebrate this peace, a French musician will perform at the upcoming BOHJazz event.

The soloist
Christine Corvisier is a French musician. She started playing the saxophone at the age of 14. She played in various bands and toured Europe with them. She composed for duos, quartets and even for large ensembles. In 2004 she began her saxophone studies at the High International Conservatory of Amsterdam. Here she received her "Bachelor of Jazz Music" in 2008. While playing in many different bands, she decided to form her own quintet in 2006. The name of the band is CC5 aka "Christine Corvisier 5tet".
She composed all the pieces of her band herself. In 2008, she won the "Young Talent of Alpes Maritimes" prize, which enabled her to spend two months in New York. Here she studied with luminaries who also play the saxophone. After returning to Germany, she formed her new quintet, with outstanding jazz musicians from Cologne. The combo quickly became known beyond the regional borders.
