Town hall renovation

The listed Bocholt town hall on Berliner Platz with its cultural centre (built in 1977) is currently being renovated. The aims include

  • Addition of a 4th floor
  • Renewal of the technology
  • Larger council chamber
  • Theatre renovation with extended stage
  • Barrier-free access to citizens' services
  • Saving energy
  • Workplaces for 400 employees
  • Costs (as of 8/2022): around 78 million euros

In 2018, Bocholt City Council passed a resolution in principle to renovate the town hall.

The plans became more concrete as time went on. In 2021, variants were presented (see download below) and approved by Bocholt's city council.

During the construction work, Bocholt's city administration is housed in a Gigaset building at Kaiser-Wilhelm-Straße 52-28.
